Have you noticed the new billboards or advertisements for DeVries Jewelers? You may think you’ve seen the featured places or recognize the faces … and you may be right!
We pride our selves on supporting local talent and partnering with other Grand Rapids based businesses. For 116 years we’ve been a family owned, Grand Rapids-based jeweler asking you to consider looking at our selection and to work with our staff of experts when shopping for your next piece of jewelry or timepiece. In the same way, we choose to use local talent and venues rather than using stock photos whenever we can.
We want our photography and advertising to be as special as our expertly curated selection of fine jewelry, gifts and timepieces – and to be as unique and individual as West Michigan.
For our latest campaign, we worked with all Grand Rapids talent. These models accompanied us to the West Side of our very own River City for hair and makeup at Head of the Pride salon, then a short trip across the street for an on-location shoot at Denym boutique and The Søvengård Biergarten and Kitchen (all located on Bridge Street). Not only did we shoot with Denym, the fine folks at the boutique turned the whole store into a wardrobe playground for us – a walk-in closet of our dreams. Our styling team was given access to many of the designer brands that the Denym buyers bring to Grand Rapids. Every piece of clothing in our Fall/Winter ’17 shoot came off the racks at Denym and was paired with pieces from the collection at DeVries to finish off the looks. And we loved every outfit the team put together.
When we finished the photography inside Denym, we stepped downstairs to The Søvengård. This was our first visit to their Biergarten, but definitely won’t be our last. The full transformation, from small basement space to glorious, lush, beautiful beer garden, took nearly a full year. All those months of hard work show in the details found at The Søvengård, from bocce ball courts to a shipping container converted to a bar, to ample amounts of seating and open space to connect with friends. Not to worry, they planned ahead for winters in Michigan – their indoor space is cozy and just as well crafted.
The West Side was a magnificent backdrop for our photo shoot. We’d encourage you to make an appointment with Head of the Pride or stop in at Denym to peruse their fashion forward wardrobing. Then drop down to The Søvengård and enjoy a meal or cocktail. When you see any of the photos from this shoot, not only will you see some faces and places you may recognize, but you’ll notice gorgeous pieces from Sofer, Oris, and Meria T. If you’d like to see any of the jewelry, gifts or watches in person, stop by our store and work with one of our experts to see them, or any other piece from our collection for yourself.
